Shillong, Dec 10: Former Nongthymmai MLA and UDP general secretary Jemino Mawthoh inspected the main road at Rynjah market and the adjoining areas along with Engineers and members of the local dorbar to get it complete which was halted due to the pandemic.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he said that it is a central place and most people from Umpling, Mawlynrei and other adjoining areas commute from Rynjah market.

He said that a major portion in and around the Rynjah road will be completed before Christmas season.

“The blacktopping of major portion in and around the Rynjah market will be completed before Christmas. It will be a Christmas present”, he said.

He said that the major work construction of bridge linking Rynjah with Umpling to be completed before the rainy season.

He said that the work was hampered and delayed due to pandemic.

On the other hand, he also informed that the move to widen the road at Post office in Rynjah has also been discussed.
