Shillong, Nov 28: In an exciting match, Meghalaya Men’s Football team thrashed Assam 6-2 in the opening match of the Santosh Trophy – North East zonal Qualifiers held on Sunday at JN Stadium, Shillong.

Meghalaya side dominated the entire match, seeing Dawanchwa Carlos Challam hitting a hat-trick while captain Hardycliff Nongbri and Maxderidoff Wahlang are amongst the scorer (including an own goal adding to the goal tally).

Meghalaya in Group A will be facing Arunachal Pradesh on December 2.
