Shillong, Sept 19: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the name of Justice Indra Prasanna Mukerji as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.
Earlier, the collegium had recommended Justice Tashi Rabstan as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court. However, this recommendation was altered and Justice Rabstan was appointed as the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Courts.
Meanwhile Justice Mukerji is one of the senior-most judges of the Calcutta High Court. He was appointed as a judge of the Calcutta High Court in May 2009. Justice Mukherji is slated to retire on September 5, 2025.
