TURA, Dec 22: A school teacher lost his life when he was thrown off the motorcycle he was travelling as a pillion rider in the Damal Asim area under West Garo Hills district on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred around 3 PM at Danang Bisa village under Damal Asim police station when the school teacher was riding with a friend on a motorbike at high speed.

They lost control and the teacher, identified as Salgrim Timoty Marak, 31 years, was thrown from the motorbike and fell under the wheels of a Mahindra pik up truck that was standing by the roadside. He died of his injuries. A post mortem was conducted and a police inquiry was carried out.
