Schools reopens in Assam

Guwahati, Jan 1: In Assam, a lower-primary school has opened today. Before the reopening of schools, a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) has been issued by the Assam Government.

According to the SOP, lower primary schools classes will take palce on alternate days for all classes from I to V. The SOP mandates the issued guidelines for government and private institutions equally. It states that schools will open at 9 A.M. and end at 1.45 P.M. Mid-day meals in government schools is also mentioned to be provided between 12.15 to 12.45 P.M.

All school premises will be sanitized once every week. Classes of Standard IV and V will be held on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday while Classes of Standard I, II, and III will be held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

Today , on the first day of 2021 in Assam Government has allowed all educational institutions to reopen completely , this means that from elementary to university level normal functioning supposed to resume form today abiding the norms set for pandemic, however the nursery and primary level classes will be conducted in a staggered manner …  till now  from class 6 to 10 School were operating in staggered manner , following one-even formula, where as colleges and Universities were allowed to open earlier … the hostels for the final year students will also open…  also for the elementary level school – from Nursery to class 5 , the students will be allowed to come if they carry a No objection certificate to school.
