Khliehriat, Mar 24: A Screening Camp For Persons With Disabilities (PwDs) was organised at the Jaiñtia Eastern College, Khliehriat by the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Jaiñtia Hills, the Office of the Social Welfare, the National Institude For Locomotor Disabilities Kolkata and Kyrmen Foundation on Thursday.
The objective of the camp was to register the names of persons with disablities in East Jaiñtia Hills District so that different kinds of assistance can be provided to them like prosthetics and schemes.
Minister of Social Welfare Department, Kyrmen Shylla encouraged parents to come forward and be proud and accept the gifts that God has given each and every one because they are special in some way or the other.
Others who spoke during the camp were Abhilash Baranwal Deputy Commissioner, East Jaiñtia Hills District, Fourness Dhar President of Kyrmen Foundation, shri Mithun Roy, Northeast Convener, SAKSHAM, Governing Council Member NILD Kolkata, R. Passah, District Social Welfare Officer, amongst others.
