Guwahati, May 23: In a big development, security forces killed six DNLA (Dimasa National Liberation Army) cadres in an encounter in the Assam-Nagaland border in Karbi-Anglong district of Assam on Sunday.
Sources said on Saturday night after getting information, security forces launched an operation and killed the DNLA cadres.
On May 19, DNLA cadres killed a youth Sanjay Ronghang at Dhansiri in the Assam-Nagaland border.
“It is a big blow to the DNLA after six cadres were killed in an encounter. After getting inputs, we launched an operation and eliminate the six cadres of DNLA,” said a police source.
Sources said two other DNLA cadre sustain bullets injury died at Nagaland.
According to police, six bodies of DNLA cadres were recovered along with a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the encounter site.
Sources said after the killing of the youth, security forces have launched a massive counter-insurgency operation against the militant outfit.
“It is a big success for us. We successfully eliminate six DNLA cadres. Our operation against the militants’ outfit will continue,” said a police official.
