SHILLONG, APR 18: Seizures worth over Rs 44.38 crore was made in poll-bound Meghalaya ahead of Lok Sabha elections to be held on Friday.
Of this, Rs 33.45 crore was pre-model code of conduct seizures and Rs 10.93 crore is post MCC seizures till today, chief electoral officer (CEO) Dr BDR Tiwari told reporters on Thursday.
He said over four FIRs have been filed in connection with poll related campaigns till April 17. According to him, 67 complaints received through the NGSP portal and 9 C-vigil cases were resolved.
A total of 1,619 persons have been bound down under the various sections of CrPC while 12,912 arms have been deposited and 773 have been exempted by a committee setup for any disposition exemption.
