Shillong, April 10: The three-day Shad Suk Mynsiem festival (The Dance of joyous Hearts) came to an end here on Monday, witnessing several of the tribal Khasi men and women participating in the thanksgiving dance.
The festival began on April 8 and during these first two days 270 dancers and 529 dancers participated.
“Today we are expecting more than thousand dancers to participate in the Shad Suk Mynsiem,” mentioned Bantei Sing Rumnong, Chairman of Publicity Committee of Seng Khasi for Shad Suk Mynsiem.
‘Ka Shad Suk Mynsiem’ was performed in the presence of Meghalaya Governor Phagu Chauhan, Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong, VPP MLA Brightstarwell Marbaniang, former MLA Samlin Malngiang among others.
Sending a message to the niam khasi and niamtre, Rumnong said they should constantly and continuously strive to follow their belief since this is rooted in these hills of ours and strengthen their belief in God who is the provider in everything.
