Tura, April 12: The ‘Play On’ Inter-School Sports Meet held its track and field event on Friday at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School.
Organized by Artsourced in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, the event is aimed at nurturing young athletes in Tura by promoting sports at the school level.
The day featured competitions in six athletic disciplines including Tug of War, High Jump, Long Jump, 100m Race, 400m Race and Relay Race, among the nine participating schools.
In the 100m Race for girls, Government Boys School took first place, followed by Sherwood School in second and Don Bosco School Rongkhon in third place. In the boy’s category, Sherwood School emerged victorious, followed by Christian Boys School in second, and Tura Public School in third position.

The 400m Race saw Government Boys School take the first position in the boy’s category, with Sherwood School in second and Don Bosco School Rongkhon in third. In the girl’s category, Tura Public School took first place, Government Boys School second, and St. Mary’s School third.
In the Relay Race for boys, Montfort Centre for Education grabbed the first position, with Government Boys School in second, and Tura Public School in the third position. In the girl’s category, Don Bosco School Tura was in first position, followed by St. Mary’s School in second and Government Boys School in third.
In the Long Jump for boys, Sherwood School took first place, Montfort Centre for Education second, and Tura Public School third. In the girl’s category, Tura Public School was in first position, Government Boys School second, and Montfort Centre for Education third.

The High Jump event saw Tura Public School excel in the girl’s category, with Montfort Centre for Education in second, and Government Boys School in third position. In the boy’s category, Tura Public School took first place, followed by Sherwood School in second and Christian Boys School in third place.
In the Tug of War competition for boys, Don Bosco School Tura took first place and Sherwood School second. In the girl’s category, Montfort Centre for Education clinched first place and Government Boys Higher Secondary School took second.
