Shillong, April 30: The Shillong Buddhist Committee celebrated Baisakh festival on the occasion of upcoming Buddha Purnima in the premises of Buddha Temple, Polo, Shillong on Saturday.
For this, a Sarvadharma Samaroh was organised in which religious members of all the religions of the city participated, besides the Animal Husbandry minister A.L. Hek. The chief guest of the program was Rev Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh.

Comparing the teachings of both, the Archbishop said these two great men gave the same purpose of love, peace and mutual harmony and brotherhood. “That’s why we should not keep mutual differences on religious grounds and the aim should be to maintain brotherhood with each other,” he stressed.
Apart from the Archbishop, different religious heads focused on the objectives of Mahatma Buddha and talked about brotherhood in their address.
