Shillong, Dec 6: The first semifinal of the 1st Inter-Academy SYM U-14 Cricket Tournament saw Shillong Cricket Academy A defeat the SCA B team by 53 runs to progress to the final at the Don Bosco Mini Stadium here on Friday.
SCA A won the toss and batted first, posting 157/3 in their allotted 15 overs, thanks to the tremendous batting of Gautam, who continued his fine form with a delightful 62. He was well-supported by Suraj, who ended not out on 53. Krish from SCA B took 2 wickets, including that of Gautam.
Chasing the big score, SCA B did not give up easily and scored 104/6 in their 15 overs. Tanmay scored an impressive 37, supported by Swarnadeep with 15 not out. Siddhanth from SCA A took 2 wickets in a winning cause.
Unfortunately, due to bad light, the second semifinal between the A and B teams of the St Anthony’s Cricket Academy could not be completed on Friday.
