Shillong, Oct 23: Rilbong Durga Puja Committee (DPC) won both the individual and group categories of the Central Puja Committee’s (CPC) Late S.K. Agarwal Memorial Drum-Beat (Dhak) Competition held at Rilbong Durga Puja Pandal.
A total 8 Puja Committee Drum-beaters or Dhakis from different Durga Puja pandals of Greater Shillong and outside the State participated in this year’s competition and it was was judged by Ashish Bhattacharjee, Ajit Paul and Purojit Mandal.
The competition is divided into group and individual categories, and winners will be awarded medals and cash prizes. The champion of the Duga Puja Committee (group and individual) will be awarded a running trophy in memory of the late Shiv Kr. Agarwal.
In Individual Category
1st Prize – Rilbong DPC
2nd Prize – R. R. Colony DPC
3rd Prize – Kench’s Trace DPC
4th Prize – Survey of India DPC
Special Prize – Audit & Account Motinagar DPC
Consolation Prize – Pragati Sangha DPC, Barapathar Ganesh Mandir DPC, Dudgeon Line DPC.
In Group Category
1st Prize – Rilbong DPC
2nd Prize – R. R. Colony DPC
3rd Prize – Kench’s Trace DPC
