Shillong, Dec 20: The Federation of Medical & Sales Representative Association of India (FMRAI) and Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives Union (CRU), North East, called for a one-day country wide strike of medical and sales representatives at Shillong on Wednesday.
The Strike was called on a 8-point charter of demands, out of which 5 demands are directed towards Central Govt. and 3 demands to employers.
Demands to the Central Government:
1. Protect Sales Promotion Employees (conditions of Services) Act, 1976
2. Frame Statutory Working Rules for the Sales Promotion Employees.
3. Remove all restrictions of entry of Medical Representatives in Govt. Hospitals and instructions and ensure their Right to Work.
4. Reduce prices of medicines and medical devices and remove GST.
5. Protect data privacy.
Demands to the Employers:
1. Stop Sales related harassment and victimization.
2. No intrusion in privacy through tracking and surveillance.
3. Ensure unhindered entry to workplaces.
Along with the rest of the country, Shillong District of CRU extended solidarity and support to the country wide strike for the benefit of sales professional employees.
