Shillong’s beloved RJ Nicky J has a special message for Japan’s Ambassador to India

Shillong, Nov 27: As people relish in the vibrancy of the Shillong’s Cherry Blossom Festival 2021 and swoon to the mood of festivity it has brought to Shillong City, city based Radio Mirchi 91.1  Radio Jockey (RJ) Nicholas J Kharnami aka RJ Nicky J has appealed to Ambassador of Japan to India, Satoshi Suzuki to help the State of Meghalaya with technology for waste management.

Suzuki was present at the inauguration of the Cherry Blossom Festival 2021 in Shillong on November 25, 2021 and expressed that he was impressed with Shillong’s celebration of the cherry blossom or the ‘Sakura’, which is the National flower of Japan and it is also a source of inspiration to the people of Japan.

Japan has been an active supporter and participant of the Cherry Blossom Festival right from its first edition, with 2021 being the 4th edition of the popular festival in Shillong.

In a video message to Suzuki on social media, RJ Nicky J said: “Hello H.E. Satoshi Suzuki, we are thankful for your support for the Cherry Blossom Festival. If possible please help also with to improve the waste management in the State of Meghalaya. Thank you.”

Impressively,  Nicky J also posted the video message in Japanese language, speaking the message in Japanese himself.

It may be mentioned that Nicky J aka Nicholas J Kharnami has been on a mission against rampant littering of waste for years, now. He has been spearheading the ‘My Shillong My Pride campaign’ single-handedly for years now, highlighting the waste dumped at several locations around the Shillong city, and evoking public support to clean such areas successfully.
