Shillong, May 2: Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh on Friday informed that all works pertaining to the construction of the vending zones in Shillong has been completed for rehabilitation of over 200 vendors.
Speaking to reporters, Lyngdoh said, “The identification of the vendors has already been completed. We are looking at about 200 vendors being relocated.”

He, however, said since the matter is under the department of Urban Affairs, probably Deputy CM should be able to give a clear timeline.
“I have taken up the matter with the Assembly officials last month and we should be able to see beginning with Khyndailad, we have always been harping on making the area a pedestrian zone. So that will be completed but a definite timeline can be given by Deputy CM,” the minister stated.
