South Garo Hills observes 34th death anniversary of Capt W.A Sangma

Baghmara, Oct 25: The District Administration South Garo Hills District in collaboration with the Ampang Mangsang Mahari observed the 34th Death Anniversary of Lt Capt W.A Sangma on Friday at Capt Williamson Memorial Park near Baghmara Police Station.

The Speaker of Meghalaya Shri Thomas A Sangma paid homage to the great leader and pioneers of Meghalaya State Lt Capt Sangma and said that we should not just remember him on this day but should also try to follow his footste  the true values and dedication towards the welfare of the state.

S.N. Sangma MLA Chokpot Constituency also mentioned the various contributions made by the Lt Capt Williamson Sangma in his political history.

During the memorial service placing of wreaths and garlands are being laid at the statue of Capt Williamson Sangma.

To mark  the occasion the Speaker of Meghalaya Thomas A Sangma unveiled the plague for the renaming  of road from Dilsa junction to Baghmara Main market as Capt Williamson Road.
