Tura, April 4: The South West Garo Hills Police have recovered a motorcycle reported stolen in Assam from Garodoba OGC in the South West Garo Hills District on Wednesday.
According to a police statement, during a vehicle inspection, a Yamaha R15 bearing registration AS 01-FB-1860 was apprehended due to lack of proper documentation.
Upon thorough investigation, the South West Garo Hills Police unearthed that the motorcycle was reported stolen and a case has been registered at Fatasil Ambari Police Station, Assam.
Further investigation by the police revealed that the motorcycle had been purchased at a discounted rate from an unidentified individual via OLX.in.
The South West Garo Hills Police have confiscated the motorcycle and handed it over to the police team of Fatasil Ambari PS for further action.
The South West Garo Hills Police urge the general public to exercise caution and verify thoroughly before purchasing any second-hand vehicle from unfamiliar sources.
