Shillong, Jul 5: Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan School Association (MSSASA) on Tuesday met Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui to suggest and request the State Government to keep more budget provision in the State Budget for SSA.
MSSASA president Aristotle Rymbai said that the state government should set more budget as per provision of Section 7(5) of the RTE Act, 2009, so that the same problems shall not be repeated again like what had happened in the financial year 2021-22 and also to improve the performance in various components/activities under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
Rymbai added that they are also demanding enhancement of salaries. Education Minister has informed them that the department will have a meeting with the CM in next few days.
The SSA teachers met the Education Minister to apprise him of their concerns- pending salaries, enhancement, keep more budget provision in state budget for SSA and other is regularisation of SSA teachers.
