Shillong, May 4: The students of St. Edmund’s College along with teacher visited the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Node Meghalaya, as part of their educational visit on Wednesday.

During the visit, students observed the different phyto-resources particularly various types of Orchid species available in the Orchidarium.

The activities of sensitization of young mind of students was supported by the guidance and initiative of the Director, IBSD, Prof. Pulok K. Mukherjee to promote awareness of local bio-resources and their utilization towards sustainable development.

It may be mentioned that IBSD is organising such activities to inculcate scientific temperament among students to gain exposure to research environment and motivate them to pursue research in various field of life sciences and awareness about local Bioresources.
