The minister said, “As I was trying to explain to you. These include posts for instance of junior scale MPS post then UB/AB, SIs, all of these posts which require people who are young at age, so the entry point has been set accordingly and which is why different minimum age and different upper age limit for these various posts. This requires confirmation by the cabinet which is why it is taken up for discussion and approval today.”

Lyngdoh also announced that the state government will soon advertise for 3000 plus vacant posts in various categories in the home (police) department and over 500 posts in the Civil Defence and Home Guards department.

“We will take another two to three weeks to advertise and we should be in a position to complete the process within the next two months,” he said. According to him, this will be a huge game changer in view that there is a clear deficit of manpower and this will help address that problem in the home department.
