State Education Commission meets in Tura to discuss issues, chart sustainable course

Tura, June 13: The State Education Commission of Meghalaya visited Tura Christian College, and a program was held in the Working Women’s Conference Hall, to strategize and devise innovative measures to enhance the educational ecosystem across the state.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Tony Trabert C. Marak, President of the Governing Body of Tura Christian College, key stakeholders including educators, policymakers, administrators, and community representatives were also present for the meeting. The goal was to deliberate on pressing educational issues and chart a sustainable course for the future.

Mr. Ambrose Ch. Marak, Secretary of the Education Department, addressing the gathering emphasized on setting a reflective tone for the proceedings. The program featured a special lecture divided into four segments on “Christian Medical Missions in NEI” by Prof. D.R. Syiemlieh, former Chairman of UPSC and Advisor to MeSEC. This was followed by a crucial talk on Ethics and Work-Culture by Prof. S.M. Sungoh, Chairperson of MeSEC.

The event highlighted the collaborative efforts needed to address the educational challenges in Meghalaya, emphasizing the importance of ethics, culture, and innovative strategies in shaping the future of education in the region.
