Shillong, Jan 30: The state Cabinet on Thursday approved the appointment of retired Col Daryl Hopkins as Director of Sainik Welfare Meghalaya.

Informing this after the meeting, chief minister Conrad K Sangma said the selection committee headed by the chief secretary DP Wahlang had recommended the name of retired Col Daryl Hopkins for the appointment of the four applications.

According to him, Col Hopkins is the senior most from the shortlisted names.
