The Cancer Wing which was previously used as a Covid Ward during the pandemic entailed renovations to be made in order to house cancer patients.
Directions were given on Wednesday to make the wards functional so that patients and attendants visiting the hospital can avail rooms for their stay and lessen the inconvenience to the patients during the course of their treatment.
“I am happy to see that a lot of progress has been made and we are hopeful that by the end of the month or by the first week of December the entire civil work that is required to make this (Cancer Wing) functional will be complete. Of course the new equipment will take some more time to come because it’s been done through a different process but in the mean time at least the facilities, the different wards for female and male wards, day care wards will be ready to be used and still continue using the current machines till the new ones come. I’m happy to see that it’s progressing fast and we should be able to make it full 100% functional by the first week or second week of December” stated the Chief Minister.
