Tura, June 10: A teenager and a 60 year old man took their own lives in two separate cases of suicide in Garo Hills on Thursday.

The teenager who died was a 15 year old girl in Daren Agal village near Tura, informed Tura police and West Garo Hills superintendent of police V S Rathore has said that a case had been taken up for investigation in connection with this death.

In another case,a 60 year old man Rucheng S Sangma hanged himself at Tebronggre village leaving his family in shock.

Dozens of innocent lives have been lost to this social problem in Garo Hills over the past couple of years and this has been attributed to lack of counseling and helpline for such vulnerable people who need mental support to overcome their anxieties and worries.
