Shillong, Sept 17: Six people had a narrow escape when the car in which they were travelling caught fire at Laitkor.
An SUV Renault bearing Assam registration number AS-01-FB-0726, which was driven by Agni Prabha Roy along with five friends from Assam, narrowly escaped a catastrophic situation as their car burst into flames at Laitkor.
As per information, the six were en route to Laitlum when their journey took a terrifying turn near Laitkor Lad-Sahep.
It was informed that the car caught fire due to overheating of the engine, which subsequently led to the car suddenly erupting into flames. Miraculously, all six occupants of the vehicle managed to swiftly evacuate unharmed.
Local fire department personnel arrived promptly to douse the flames. However, despite their efforts, the car was tragically reduced to ashes, leaving behind a charred and unrecognisable frame.
