Shillong, May 18: The Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong of Ri Bhoi District on Wednesday expressed their opposition to the notification passed by the Office of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem stating that anyone who want to start any commercial business and service under the villages of Hima Mylliem must apply for the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the office of the Hima Mylliem.
The representatives of the Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong, Ri Bhoi District, led by its Chairman BB Makdoh, General Secretary PB Sylliang and Treasurer S. Thabah submitted a memorandum to the Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) In-charge Elaka department, Jambor War, seeking his intervention over the recent order passed by the office of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem.
The leaders stressed that the order passed by the Office of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem will contradict the power and dignity of the Dorbar Shnong located under the jurisdiction of the Hima Mylliem and also will put on hardship for youth who would want to start any business due to the interferences from the Hima.
The order of the Hima Mylliem, which was passed on April 4, 2022, stated that anyone who wants to start commercial business or service like Guest House, Hotel, Petrol Pump, Vehicle Showroom, Wine Shop, Steel Fabrications, Work Shop and others must apply for the No Objection Certificates from the office of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem as under the Administration of Mylliem Syiemship Rule 2015.
