Jowai, Oct 30: The Synjuk ki Waheh Chnong War Jaiñtia, an organisation of Headmen of War Jaiñtia Region, has on Friday (October 29, 2021) submitted a Memorandum to the Sub Divisional Officer of Amlarem Civil Subdivision, Abhilash Baranwal to prohibit overnight parking of trucks along the Amlarem-Dawki (Tamabil Bakur) Road.

The organisation had stated that overnight parking of trucks along this stretch of the road causes frequent traffic snarls which is causing inconveniences to the public who commute through this road.

It also stated that during exams and medical emergencies the students and public alike are facing lot of problems.Moreover, it said this practice of overnight parking leads to the roadside being scattered with litter and it is becoming an eyesore as the region is one of the tourist hubs of the District and the state.

Meanwhile, the SDO has assured to look into the issue.
