The Meghalaya High Court has directed the state government to complete the process of acquisition and handing over the land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the purpose of expanding the Shillong Airport, within a period of three months.
Deputy Chief Minister Incharge of Transport, Sniawbhalang Dhar, announced that the Airport Authority of India (AAI) will be conducting a second survey of Umroi Airport to assess the feasibility of expanding the runway. This initiative aims to determine if the airport can accommodate wider-bodied aircraft.
