The Manipur police on Thursday not only claimed that “members of Arambai Tenggol” were involved in the “attempt” on the life of a senior police officer and intimidating his family members on the evening of February 27 in Imphal but also accused the Meitei radical group of “engaging in many anti-social activities”.
The 10-Kuki-Zomi-Hmar elected MLAs of Manipur on Monday submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking an alternative solution to the Manipur crisis.
Arambai Tenggol (AT), known for playing a key role for safeguarding Manipur valley from armed aggression in the ongoing ethnic strife between the Kuki-Zo and Meiteis, recently diverted its focus to wildlife conservation with a three-day anti-poaching operation at Keibul Lamjao National Park (KLNP) in Bishnupur district.
