Speaking at a pre-budget consultative meeting with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) today in Itanagar, Khandu highlighted two sectors to convert resources into revenue – hydropower and tourism – which, he said, can be tapped systemically to enhance the pool of state-owned resources.
The announcement was made by the Arunachal Pradesh government while attending the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Government Secondary School at Balek in East Siang district.
Raising the possible impact of the mega project in the state, CM Khandu said the dam would have a cascading effect on Bangladesh too. He also informed that several rounds of discussions had been held at the government level and with the Brahmaputra Board on the threat looming over the region.
