The 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 will see the participation of over 3500 athletes (the highest among all editions of the Games) competing for 1600 medals across 23 venues across West Jaiñtia Hills (including two venues in Shillong and Laitkor).
Athletes from the 11 district along with the host district West Jaiñtia Hills arrived at Ladmukhla ground, Jowai on Sunday for the much anticipated 6th Meghalaya games.
Meghalaya Sports minister Shakliar Warjri on Tuesday informed that the sports department along with the Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA) launched the “Lead Programme,” for which nine athletes from the state has been selected for training to compete at the international level and the Olympics.
