A wave of mixed reactions has emerged following the temporary ban on government-approved Gohalkona Sand Gravel Mining in Boko. While some residents from Kompaduli and neighbouring villages have protested against the mining activities on the Boko River, others argue that the ban has negatively impacted the socio-economic fabric of the area.
According to a forest official, they were from the Bamunigaon Forest Protection Range Office patrolling in a Mahindra Bolero vehicle and proceeding towards Boko when the vehicle hit at the back side of a truck, that was parked on the road at Agchiya on NH 17.
