The Meghalaya Police on Tuesday informed that a Special Investigating Team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate the Lumkynsai blast under Smit on July 3, 2023.
38-year-old Pynsuklang Khongwir, who was bed ridden after undergoing a spinal surgery, died on the spot after a powerful blast at his residence at Smit village in East Khasi Hills District on Monday afternoon.
According to a police officer in Imphal, the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion occurred late on Wednesday evening inside a vehicle. Additional security forces were deployed to the area to ensure the safety of local residents and to investigate the incident.
