An attempt by some people to cross over into Tripura from Bangladesh was thwarted by Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday after they fire a round of non-lethal ammunition.
Hifzur Rahman, a notorious criminal was shot dead in a police encounter near Assam-Meghalaya border on Monday. He had escaped from Silchar Central Jail on May 11.
On Saturday evening, around 6:30 PM, acting on source information police teams from Assam’s Mankachar Police Station raided a newly constructed and abandoned house belonging to one Bhuttu @ Masibur Rahman, at Jordanga Barmanpara village in the area.
