The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on March 19 has approved the establishment of a new Brownfield Ammonia-Urea Complex with an annual production capacity of 12.7 Lakh Metric Tonnes (LMT) within the existing premises of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) in Namrup.
The Assam Cabinet has approved the purchase of a 40% equity stake in the Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) to facilitate the establishment of the Rs 10,601 crore Namrup Fertilizer Plant-IV.
The Namrup Fertilizer Shramik Union (NFSU) on Thursday called for a 40 per cent subsidy on natural gas for the Brahmaputra Fertilizer and Corporation Limited (BVFCL), Namrup in Dibrugarh district as per the norms provided by the government to industrial units in the northeastern region.
