Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday distributed Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) work orders to beneficiaries of Mawlyndep Village, Umsning C&RD Block, Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY-II).
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma had an informal meeting with the Assam Chief Minister Himata Biswa Sarma on Wednesday at Shillong, discussion on the border issue and decided to formalise confidence building measures before conducting a joint visit to the areas of difference in October.

Stating that there is no controversy on the issue, Sangma said, “If I speak in Hindi, I will use the word Bharat, if I speak in English I’ll use India. The Constitution is very clear that India is Bharat. There’s no controversy but I think we are creating a controversy where there is no controversy.”
Stating that the State is going ahead with the NEP implementation, Sangma said, “There is no going back on that.” He also urged individuals and colleges to come forward and discuss the issues they have with the State government.
The State Cabinet on Tuesday approved the amendments of the Meghalaya Goods and Services Tax, 2017, Meghalaya Medical Council and National Law University.
