Tinsukia District Commissioner Swapnil Paul on Thursday said that the demise of 11 individuals at Tongona tea estate was not due to cholera. They died due to the consumption of illicit liquor and other diseases.
A wave of panic has gripped the Tongonagaon tea estate under the Doomdooma revenue circle in the Tinsukia district of Assam following the deaths of at least 11 individuals from cholera and diarrhoea in one week.
