The state crime investigation department (CID) has arrested nine others, including senior police officers, in Assam's Bajali district after a local businessman alleged that he was being extorted by police.
In a significant breakthrough, the Meghalaya Police successfully thwarted a major drug trafficking operation on the evening of June 30, 2023 (Friday) and recovered drugs worth Rs 5 crore, making it one of the biggest hauls in the state.
According to Police, the charge sheet that has been submitted by the CID names 41 accused including 10 teachers, 24 students, 2 attendants and middleman.
