Shillong, Aug 19: Sombar attamo, Congress dolni MLA sakgittam, chong•motan Umsning-ni MLA Dr Celestine Lyngdoh, Mawhati-ni MLA Charles Marngar aro Nongstoin-ni MLA Gabriel Wahlang,...
Ending weeks of speculations that has significantly altered the political landscape in the State, Congress MLAs Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh, Charles Marngar, and Gabriel Wahlang officially joined the National People's Party (NPP) on Monday evening.
The Congress has made a "checkmate" by reaching out to Dr Celestine Lyngdoh and suspending the two other MLAs - Gabriel Wahlang (Nongstoin) and Charles Marngar (Mawhati) for six years before they could execute their decision to join the NPP.
Opposition Congress legislator from Umsning Dr Celestine Lyngdoh on Thursday asked the state government to request the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal to allot departments like radiology for specialised studies for inservice doctors from Meghalaya.
Raising a supplementary question in the Assembly, Celestine said the reason for him asking this is because whenever they go to the Meghalaya Houses, they are always told that so and so rooms are booked for retired judges.
