All eyes are on the underdog Shillong Lajong FC as they prepare to take on Indian Super League (ISL) side Northeast United FC in the first semifinal of the 133rd Durand Cup 2024 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong at 5:30 PM on Monday.
The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) has announced several traffic restrictions ahead of the Durand Cup 2024 Semifinal football match between Shillong Lajong FC and NorthEast United FC, scheduled for August 26 at the J.N. Stadium in Polo in Shillong at 5:30 PM.
The venue will not favor either the Shillong or NorthEast fans, nor the Kolkata fans for that matter. Therefore, rumors have been spreading like wildfire that the Durand Cup organizers are reconsidering changing the venue from Kolkata to Shillong once again.
Home side Shillong Lajong FC stunned last year’s runners-up Emami East Bengal 2-1 in the second quarterfinals to book their place in the semi-finals of the 133rd Durand Cup, which was played in front of over 14,000 supporters at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Wednesday evening.
