Several organizations have come forward to collectively support the victims of large-scale flooding and multiple landslides in the Garo Hills region over the past three days, following torrential rainfall since Thursday. These groups are working to reach the affected areas and distribute relief materials to alleviate the suffering of the victims.
In continuation of their response to the flood affected Dalu area, Meghalaya’s State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Sunday assisted the Block authority in distribution of relief materials in several parts of the C&RD Block.

After a week of closure due to floods, all educational institutions in Tripura re-opened on Tuesday except those schools where relief camps have been set up.
The catastrophic flood which hit the state for the first time in over three decades, so far, has claimed 31 lives, including women and children, in six of the eight districts - South Tripura, Gomati, West Tripura, Sepahijala, Unakoti and Khowai since August 19, and two persons still missing.
