In another operation, 13 fishermen were airlifted in Tuesday morning from a riverine island on the Brahmaputra River in Dibrugarh district. These fishermen were marooned on the island following the flood on the river.
The flood situation in Kaziranga National Park has taken a dire turn, with four Hog Deers dying and 167 forest camps submerged in water, as of Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting, held via video conferencing, was also attended by Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Kyrmen Shylla, Chief Secretary D P Wahlang, and officials from State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).
