The minister on Monday had visited West Khasi Hills District and convened the first zonal meeting with the four MLAs from the region in the presence of medical officers (MOs), nursing staff, supervisors, DHS, DM&HO to discuss the efficiency of the health centres in the district.

Further, the minister informed that the food safety inspectors have also been asked to find out how many days it takes for imported fish to reach the state.

The delegation met Health Minister Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh on Wednesday to apprise her on various grievances concerning their day-to-day functioning.

Lyngdoh said that the advisory has been issued in public interest, keeping them well informed on the disease reported on cattle.
