Manipur's capital, its adjoining localities and the three curfew-bound districts of Imphal East, Imphal West, and Thoubal wore a deserted look on Wednesday while the security forces were on a high alert to foil any attack or ethnic clashes in the state, officials said.
Sources indicated that NIA will probe Sunday attack where two persons died and atleast 10 other were injured in Koutruk village of Imphal West bordering Kangpokpi district.
The woman, identified as Ngangbam Surbala, 31, was brought dead at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in the state capital Imphal, 45 km from Kangpokpi.

According to police, the body of a middle-aged woman was recovered from the Tairenpokpi area in Imphal West district, while the body of a man, believed to be in his forties, was found in the Takhok Mapal Makha area in Imphal East district.
