The Manipur government has suspended mobile services in five of its 16 districts for 5 days following protests by students in the state capital on Monday and in anticipation of further deterioration of law and order.
The order stated, "The State Government has made considered decision to lift suspension in case of Broadband service (ILL and FTTH) conditionally in a liberalised manner subject to fulfilment of the following terms and conditions and taking up with all possible safeguards,"
To facilitate limited access to internet services for the public, the Manipur High Court on Friday (July 7) directed the Home Department of Manipur government to lift the ban on internet through Internet Lease Lines (ILLs) throughout the state.
