Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyoitraditya Scindia on Friday said he has been pleasantly taken aback with Meghalaya’s vision to develop the new Shillong investment area.

Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyoitraditya Scindia, on Friday said state leadership in northeast must find a permanent solution to the flood problem and the DoNER ministry can be the facilitator.

Union Minister of Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia today said he will do everything to maximise Meghalaya's competitive and comparative advantages and drive the State to a more prosperous era of growth.

A crucial demand to boost air connectivity between Garo Hills and North Bengal with three major metropolitan cities of the country, namely Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata, has been made to the union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia by a Joint Movement Committee for Corridor group that wants Tura, namely Baljek airport in Jengjal, to start operation of the ATR 72 flights linking it to Balurghat airfield and from there onwards to the three cities of the country.
