Five active members of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyol group) were arrested from various areas of the Imphal East and Imphal West districts on Monday.
In a significant breakthrough against insurgency in the Northeast, Guwahati City Police apprehended two key members of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group–KCP PWG), a Maoist separatist militant outfit active in Manipur. The arrests took place on Thursday night at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Gorchuk, disrupting the group's extortion and arms smuggling network.
