Union Minister for Power and Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal has called for an urgent need for sustainable habitat development in the Northeast in the context of India’s resolve to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 and in pursuit of the Prime Minister’s commitment to the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

Union Minister of Power Manohar Lal has asked the state governments of the Northeast not to impose water cess in respect of hydropower projects.

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has assured the Centre that the completion of 13 hydel projects in the State will contribute about Rs. 10,000 crore per annum to the revenues of the State.
