Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Thursday asserted the need for political parties to present their respective roadmaps on what they envisioned to do for the state instead of criticising the government.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday rolled out CM IMPACT for Garo Hills to address the low pass percentage in Meghalaya, which envisions to support students, teachers and parents.
"We have identified districts where student performance, particularly in board examinations, has not been up to standard. Special programmes have been designed to address this," said Sangma.
19 years back on this day, 9 innocent souls from Garo Hills were lost to the bullets of police during the protests against the bifurcation of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE).
Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) will introduce biannual board examinations starting in 2025. This new approach aims to provide students who do not pass the board exams with an opportunity to retake them within one to two months.
Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Tuesday said the state government is taking all measures to address the problem of school dropout by improving the standards of education in the state.
